- HEALING CIRCLES
- In Memory of Neel Nanda we have created a memorial fund and will be hosting monthly healing circles at West Side Comedy Club in partnership with the organization #SameHere. The "SameHere Circles" are a closed, safe environment for open discussion about the challenges faced in everyday life and the emotional struggles we all experience. These circles are a safe place for vulnerability; sharing stories provides space to reflect and relate to one another because everyone faces some form of hardship. You can also attend without sharing and just listen to what others have to say. It can be healing to hear other people's stories and know you're not alone, and that it's okay not to be okayRegister ahead or just show up.

On January 28th, from 2pm - 5pm, join comedy veteran and FUNY Standup co-founder Brian Scott McFadden to help you find your authentic comedy voice.Students should come prepared with a bit of material that they feel most embodies and expresses who they are as a comic. As well as a story, topic or an issue that is close to their hearts; something that has emotional resonance that speaks to them that they want to work on and turn into a part of their act.About Brian Scott McFadden:Brian Scott McFadden is an actor and comedian who has been doing stand up comedy for over 25 years. He has performed all over the world & appears regularly in clubs all over NYC. He has been seen on Late Night With David Letterman, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Star Search as well as MTV, Comedy Central. - Have you been thinking about taking a show to the Edinburgh Fringe? Not sure where to start? Join Sophia Wolbrom for a 90-minute chat about how the festival works and all the essential things to know. There are many different ways to approach the Fringe, and having worked five seasons as a venue manager and street team member, Sophia has seen and heard a lot: both success stories and failures. She will answer questions and provide a ‘lay of the land’ diving into what works and what doesn’t, imparting tips, tricks, and hacks for the world’s largest arts festival.About Sophia Wolbrom: Sophia Wolbrom is the Associate Director of FUNY Standup; while she is not a comic, she does have a passion for comedy and helping comedians succeed. She got her start in the industry while living in Edinburgh, Scotland working on the street team for MZA Artist Management & Production.
