Acting for Comedians with Avriel Hillman
F Comedy at WSCC, New York, NY
Acting for comedy is a very specialized skill. The most incredible comedians know how to translate their stand-up solo skills into scene work that can land them major performance roles.

This semi-intensive is an exploration into the fundamental components a comedic actor needs to approach material and auditions, and integrate their unique authentic talent into characters that are outside of them.

This six week course will take the comedian through scene analysis, acting fundamentals, voice work, scene study, and audition material, all which are essential for the comedian wanting to understand how to expand their craft, appeal to a broader audience, convert their talent into additional creative opportunities, and to understand how their comedic routines can be enhanced by acting skills.

This intensive will be rigorous and lots of fun, building on skills developed in previous FUNY classes, requiring unique focus in class and homework providing opportunities to work with other classmates in a collaborative way.

Participant in the class will also get a discount on all private sessions with the teacher which can be dedicated to their routines or other material they wish to work on to prepare them for acting with comedy.

Interviews prior to class will be required so proper material can be assigned, suiting the participant’s individual needs.
